maybe this question should be phrased differently, i’m not sure.
i feel most alive when listening to my favorite music either really really loud on our stereo system at home or on a beautiful day with the windows rolled down in my car. the music seems to awaken parts of my personality that make me feel awake and joyous and significant.

I feel most alive when the “whole group is together, each bringing out all that is best, wisest or funniest in all the others. Those are the golden sessions; when four or five of us after a hard day’s walking have come to our inn; when our slippers are on, our feet spread out towards the blaze and our drinks at our elbows; when the whole world, and something beyond the world, open itself to our minds as we talk; and no one has any claim on or any responsibility for another, but all are freemen and equals as if we had first met an hour ago, while at the same time an Affection mellowed by the years unfolds us.” — yes, I often quote this from Lewis in the Four Loves, but these really are my favorite times. When I am with people who “know” me and I can be myself and they themselves. A place where I can freely dream and share my fears. While our drinks are always by our sides, most times it doesn’t occur next to a cozy fire, but any porch or balcony will do. :)
