“Art must carry man’s craving for the ideal, must be an expression of his reaching out towards it; that art must give man hope and faith. And the more hopeless the world in the artist’s version, the more clearly perhaps must we see the ideal that stands in opposition to it — otherwise life becomes impossible!” – Andrei Tarkovsky
When we play outside, the sun bounces off Fuller’s head reflecting the gorgeous colors of red, gold, blonde, and orange. God made those pretty colors and put them on my son’s head. What a beautiful thought.
(Of course, the sun doesn’t bounce a lot because I try to keep his head covered with a hat. But Fuller sometimes has an opinion of his own.)
spring is here and/or on the way! (depending on your location) the hammock is hanging in the shade. the dogwoods are in bloom. the tomatoes and cukes are in the ground. the bugs havent shown up yet. picking grass is inexhaustably fascinating (if you’re 8 months old at least). life is good, especially in the spring.
Sitting in J. Alexander restaurant with a butter crusted salmon fillet, served with a cool dill butter sauce, positioned against a spring orzo vinaigrette salad. In hand is the crisp Hefeweizen wheat beer on tap. After inquiring about their fish monger, I was pleased to learn the company Inland delivers fish daily at the Chattanooga airport. Thank God for fresh fish and the incredibly talented hands that made it.
This morning, I heard my unborn baby’s heart beating for the first time. Whoosh-swish, Doppler hooray!

It’s a long thought, and an old one, but it’s the most beautiful one I could think of.

you asked for lovely thoughts…here are a couple word images…
For God…Gave…Son…so we…Life.
cool bright colors in a Wal-mart Isle contrast the layers of greens outside in the summer heat.
A chair stands in the middle of my room, paint chipping, varnish worn smooth, firmly planted and solid amoung the ever-changing residency of the dorm.
A Baltimore Oriels song is more musical than the Robins, yet they use the same sounds and patterns.
