huh. between last night and this morning cnn removed a photo from this article — it may have been a little too much for the public to handle. but i (with my family’s nursing background and my fascination with anatomy) found it quite interesting.

does it concern anyone else that the second head shows activity and in fact could not be called brain dead? i’m not going to be the right-winger who throughs rotten fruit at these people, but it seems to me that the other ‘head’ could be a person. granted, there is little potential for life for the second child such that disallowing it a future by excising it from the other kid doesn’t seem like the worst scenario. i don’t know.

i don’t believe it is a second child, as i thought i read that the second brain runs completely through the first…. with no heart and other organs to sustain it individually. i think it’s just a malformation of a second child — but was never a second person at all.
i once read about a child born with his “twin” inside his belly. the twin had stopped developing at some early stage and somehow ended up, a group of cells, within the developed child.
odd, huh?

sad news. little baby rebeca (sweet name, huh?) died after the surgery to remove the second head.
lots of sad news recently… the 11 yr old girl, kidnapped in sarasota fl, found dead. what’s wrong with this world? (don’t answer that. i know exactly what’s wrong with this world!)
