Okay, I’ll admit it. I am pretty much entranced by reality television. I’m not talking skanky junk like “Temptation Island” or “Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire.” (Uh, anyone else notice Fox’s trend towards low-morality entertainment?) So I’m sitting on my couch, watching “All American Girl” and am surprised by a few things. One, why is British chicky Ginger Spice a judge??? How ridiculous is that? And two, why do they make the final judging round such a cruel and torturous event?? It’s like everything you hated about waiting to be picked for teams in 7th grade P.E. classes. Then again, why allow yourself to be scrutinized in such a manner?!

what’s “all american girl”? i must be out of the reality tv loop….though i must admit, sarah and i got sucked into “joe millionaire” (oh the shame!)

oh, you’re not out of the loop… i just happened to catch the premiere of this silly show last night. the producers and judges presume to know what an all american girl is — she must dance and sing well, look good, be athletic and smart, blah, blah, blah. the upside? a girl from seward was chosen to move to the next round. she’s cute and has a good personality as far as i can see. there’s hope yet for nebraska!

ah, i see. sounds like it has addiction potential! ;-) i’d better not start watching it.
speaking of good (?) tv fare, did you happen to catch vh1’s behind the movie: chicago last night? it was pretty cool – lots of footage of rehearsal/filming. that’s my favorite … i love when they show rehearsals. it always makes me want to buy some yoga pants and learn the dance numbers with them.
if you missed it, and you’d like to see it, i recorded it. i’ll hold off deleting it from replay til i know if you want to see it.
