Call me crazy, but what mother-to-be would be pleased with this Wilton cake topper?
“Feeling big with that baby belly? Big enough to break a scale? HA HA HA! Hilarious!”
Even worse, I noticed the topper is out of stock. As in, people really buy it. [groan]

Awful! At that point in pregnancy, the emotions and hormones were running so high that I probably would’ve started bawling had I seen that on a cake at my shower. Everyone is saying how “big” you are all the time, why would you need to see it in the decorations? :P

Maybe she’s also distraught about her poor maternity clothing choices, as that shirt is balloon-like.
Still, horrifying.

That reminds me of a wedding cake-topper at Michael’s, that was a groom frantically trying to run away, while the bride determinedly pulls him along by the back of his jacket. So terrible.

Can that topper be used as the bride on a wedding cake too?

How about on birthday cakes? A popping scale is sure to please any woman at any stage of her life!

I think the “Oops, I burst the scales!” is completely tasteless, but at that stage in pregnancy, your weight is probably a lost cause.
Strikes me that the “Oops!” humor would be more appropriate on a wedding cake. Especially in those rare circumstances where a couple is ACTUALLY getting married because they got pregnant. Once a common event, it’s becoming more rare every year… usually for good reason.
Did you see their comment? So the mother-to-be can have it as a keepsake? Riiiight. Photos just aren’t enough! Here’s a resin statuette to humiliate you for years to come!
