1. Mr. Eko’s death. I’m fine with major characters being killed off. I liked Mr. Eko, but I’ve read differing reports on the actor himself. One report states that his parents both died last year and that he’s returning home to film a movie. Another states that he was something of a prima donna on set and wanted a short term gig anyhow. Whatever situation is true, I don’t really care. What bothers me is one of the final scenes regarding Eko’s confession. By all accounts, Eko had become a man quite learned in the Bible… He acted as a priest for some time (even traveling to Australia while in the ministry) and he knew his scripture (remember his beating stick?). So how in the world could this “minister” of the gospel confess NOTHING before his death? That whole speech about doing the best he could? Crap. Obviously the writers know nothing of the true gospel of Christ. Eko, my one hope for a character who could respresent redemption, fails in every way during his final hour. Blah.
2. I don’t like the newbies. Especially the girl. I’ll give her time to grow on me, but for pete’s sake, couldn’t they make her hair and makeup look more island-ish? Picture perfect hair, makeup and gleaming white teeth annoyed me more than a little last night.
3. I totally don’t trust Juliette. I love the actress—she’s the perfect person to play a duplicitous Other. I have hope that Jack, Kate & Sawyer will soon get away from the clutches of this crazy cult, but for now, ya can’t trust anyone. (Can you tell I take this show very seriously??)

I had no idea you wre a Lost watcher. We take it fairly seriously around here, too.
1. Eko: He had three chances to repent…when he saw Yemi in his tent, when the alter boy told him to confess in the jungle, and when he met Yemi again in the field. I wonder if “3” is significant?
2. TOTALLY annoyed with Nikki and Paulo. Their intro has seemed so forced. Nikki is super cute and bouncy (and BOUNCY, if you know what I mean)…it just doesn’t fit in with the “realty” of being on an island for more than two months.
3. Juliette: the jury’s out. I like her tremendously, but I can’t tell if she’s the bad guy or if Ben is. Axious to see how that one plays out.

1. Eko: You know, while I wanted more from this window into his beliefs, I didn’t think it necessarily negated his faith. I chose to read in that Eko just intimately understood his sinful choices and had already repented of them, and that he was simply refusing to try to justify himself in the eyes of the world’s face-value accusations. I’ll need to watch it again to see if this theory holds water or if I just wanted to believe it so badly that I ignored contradictory evidence. :o)
2. Whatever. Yeah, I don’t really buy them as Losties.
3. Yeah, Juliette’s suspicious. She’s manipulating Jack so that he won’t confront Ben about her root motive, whatever that may be, and I suspect Jack will regret it if he doesn’t. Plus Ben’s TOO COOL a character and must not be killed off.

I’ve been kind of a cranky LOST viewer this season. I don’t want to give up on the show, but it just hasn’t been the same as Season 1 and early Season 2. I hate to “be that guy,” but I really hope the early season finale is good so I’ll have something to look forward to all winter long. The whole Eko death scene was pretty bad, in my opinion, but unfortunately it was exactly as I would have expected it to be.
I would also have to say, no matter who gets killed off and who sticks around, I am still very pleased that Michael and Walt are gone. I know they’ll be back again someday (at least they better be, with all the time that was invested in that story), but it has been nice getting to watch episodes without Michael yelling about how *they* took his son/boy/Walt over and over again.
