Waiting

I’ve been thinking a lot about waiting recently. Perhaps this is due to the number of friends in my circles who have been waiting through several long months of engagement periods. Waiting to get married can be pretty taxing! So here’s my question:

What are you waiting for?

Last Friday night, one Miss Renae Carlson looked at her cell phone and noted it read that it read “0 days, 18 hours and 52 minutes” until she became Mrs. Renae Morehead. Here is my second, somewhat related question:

What would you like to experience in 0 days, 18 hours and 52 minutes?

Wow, what a thing to program into one’s cell phone!

Waiting for: 1) 6 days until graduation; 2) 77 days until New Baby’s due date.

In 18 hours and 52 minutes, I would like to have taken two quizzes and done one group presentation in a satisfactory manner, which means I need to get back to work and away from blogs. :)

In the big game of wait, I am waiting for us to get out of this holding pattern of debt so we can move on to the next thing- finishing the house.

In 18 hours and 52 minutes, I think I will be sleeping, which if it is going to rain all day, then I will be glad to be safely tucked in bed, resting.

we’re waiting for baby girl to arrive in 100+ days. and in 18 hours I better be asleep, but if I would have answered this later or earlier, I’d say I’d like to see Caleb stand on his own. perhaps soon?

I feel like I’m waiting on a lot of major life events. College graduation, first job, some guy willing to put up with my idiosyncrasies for the rest of his life …

This is a combination of wish and wait, but in 18 hours and 52 minutes, I’d like to know what I’m doing with my life after college. An overseas job offer would of course, be really great.

When I first started thinking about waiting, I was waiting to feel better physically. Now that I’m feeling healthier, I’m waiting for the Next Big Thing. We’re mostly done with our “4 weddings in 4 weeks” run and our formerly engaged friends are now newlyweds, so I’m not waiting for weddings any longer. I think I’m now waiting for the next phase of my own development. In many ways, it goes hand in hand with Livia and Jeremy’s lives, but some of it belongs solely to me. Not sure if I will take an art class, or attempt to write something of substance, or perhaps learn a language, but I’m waiting to make a decision and move forward in this creative endeavor.

Purely wishful thinking, but in 0 days, 18 hours and 52 minutes I’d like to be in Hawaii lounging on white beach sand and enjoying bright blue ocean waves at my feet. (A girl can dream, can’t she?!)
