This morning I dealt with my usual internal struggle, What to eat for breakfast? The double-chocolate Oreos — come on! the bag’s already open and there are just a few left — and a glass of milk? Or bran flake cereal with strawberries — bran, not very exciting, and I’ve gotta wash and cut the strawberries, blah.
After making the decision, and throwing in a load of laundry (the life of a part-time homemaker), I checked my email and read the following from the American Diabetes Association:
“Currently more than 60 percent of Americans are classified as obese or overweight, which raises the risk not only of diabetes, but also of heart disease, stroke and certain cancers. New findings report that increasing numbers of children, adolescents and even toddlers are becoming obese, with many young people showing early signs of diabetes and other diseases associated with being overweight or obese.”
Though somewhat shocked by these findings, I smiled and took another bite of bran flakes and strawberries.

hurrah for healthiness! i made a similar choice this morning, although mine was more like “skip breakfast and then eat crap later, or eat total choice cereal now.” i went with the total choice. they say breakfast is important!

what i ate for breakfast this morning:
two eggs over easy
toast with butter and egg yolk
sausage and a biscuit
coca-cola
needless to say i have left my atkins diet for a little carbo hiatus. i’ll start again later.

my problem is this:
if i eat a healthy breakfast, i subconsciously believe that i am entitled to an unhealthy lunch and/or dinner.
therefore, winning this battle is not an option.

i’m thinking maybe tuesday or thursday night would work… can’t wait to see this movie! i wish i knew more about the 60’s, but know it’ll still be funny even without great folk music knowledge.

tuesday doesn’t work extremely well for me, unless it’s a later showing, which i’m guessing wouldn’t work for you. i’m going out with my fambly to celebrate my bday tuesday (even though it’s actually monday). so…maybe thursday? we’ll talk.
