What kitchen tool(s) would you never want to give up? What makes you grateful each time you use it?
Right now I’m looking at my mom’s old melon ball scoop with great devotion. I rescued it from the giveaway pile and I love it. Easy apple coring makes for a happy apple-eating family.

I would have to say my Kitchen Aid mixer. I’ve lived with one and without one, and people who say hand mixers cut it are grossly misinformed. But on a more everyday level, my santoku knife. Cuts, slices and dices like a dream. Between that and my Kuhn Rikon paring knife, I don’t need anything else in the knife department.

Also: microplane zester, stand mixer, a good paring knife, cast iron skillet, steamer for veggies and rice, and a good coffee grinder to go with that aforementioned French press.

I agree with Bethany- my microplane zester. It makes me oh-so-happy.

I have to go with the cast iron skillet, too. Can I nominate aluminum foil? Nothing beats throwing away 8 cents of foil caked with chicken goo compared to scrubbing a baking sheet.

I would have to say my coffee grinder…but it gets used more for grinding up nuts, flax seed, etc.
