I walked into Livia’s room yesterday to liberate her from quiet time, and there she was, on her bed, fully clothed and now also in her robe and slippers. She was intently involved in placing important items into a little denim purse. First, the plastic Wubbzy characters, then a tiny pad of paper and two pennies. Evidence of play was scattered around her room. She had obviously done some shopping as her little red shopping cart had been pulled from the closet and it looked like the stroller had been employed as well.

This, this type of scene, I adore. While I oftentimes have no idea what Livia is thinking, I can see the effects of her active imagination. Why the robe? Why the slippers? And where did she unearth that denim purse? I don’t know, but I love witnessing it.

Love, love both images here — the photo and the mental picture.

I love this photo! And I also fully understand the amazement and curiosity (and often bewilderment) over your child’s imagination!

Thanks for your comment on my blog!! It is really uncanny how we (and others) live such parallel lives. Blogging is amazing in that it causes lives to intersect that would otherwise remain parallel without our even knowing it! Also, your indoor photos are looking amazing? What type of camera/lens are you using these days?

Yeah, that sounds about like Madeline. Thinking of the adventures they would cook up together if ever they met! Ha!

I wish I would have been snapping photos when the girls used to play “British orphans.” They all tied scarves around their heads and found old vegetables and “herbs” outside to make ends meet. We attribute Ashley’s accent to pretending to be an orphan too much. :)
