My Nerd Quotient

I am nerdier than 12% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

I stumbled upon this quiz (thanks, mrscrumley!) and couldn’t help but take it. Apparently, I am “not nerdy, but then again maybe not all that cool either.” Tee hee.

    30. “Not nerdy, but definitely not hip.”

  2. charity Jan 13, 2005 4:26 PM

    29. Nerd Wannabe. Not nerdy, but definitely not hip. :)

  3. Haley Jan 13, 2005 4:35 PM

    11. I thought it was going to be much worse than that. :)

  4. Andy Jan 13, 2005 4:36 PM

53 . . . but I think I should get extra points for having a poster version of my graphing calculator up in my room. Even with those points I bet Jeremy and Jason score higher.

  5. Anne Jan 13, 2005 4:40 PM

    16. Once I started reading the questions I knew I wouldn’t be too nerdy.

27: “not nerdy, but definitely not hip.”

rats, i was hoping for a higher score…really.

    64. Low Ranking Nerd. Definitely a nerd but low on the totem pole of nerds.

    Huh?

  8. Megan Jan 14, 2005 12:02 AM

44 – “Somewhat nerdy. I mean face it, you are nerdier than about half the test takers.” Yikes! Or, rats, it wasn’t higher!

    Pretty funny…

rt , are you sure you only got 12?? that seems a little low. ;)

  10. rubykate Jan 14, 2005 9:39 AM

29, Not nerdy, but definitely not hip, nerd wannabe.

  11. Jeremy Jan 14, 2005 10:04 AM

    84. High-level nerd. Being married to a wonderful, non-nerdy wife is slowly smoothing my rough, nerdy edges.

  12. Jeremy Jan 14, 2005 10:06 AM

Andy, you should definitely get points for the poster. That’s as nerdy as it gets! ;)

  13. RT Jan 14, 2005 10:15 AM

CT, had the quiz been *Word Nerds*, Haley and I would’ve ranked higher and Renae just might’ve been the queen of nerds. Alas, I do not own a graphing calculator (or a POSTER of one in my bedroom! Uh-oh, CT, you guys need to talk personal decor!!) and I barely kept my head above water in high school chemistry. ; )

Ah JT, my sweet, sweet nerd hubby. I do love you.

  14. Renae Jan 14, 2005 10:30 AM

    Um, thanks?

    ;)

  15. RT Jan 14, 2005 11:27 AM

    (It’s really an honor, ‘Nae.)

  16. Bethany Jan 14, 2005 11:41 AM

I only got a 17. “Not nerdy, but then again, maybe not all that cool either.”

  17. Jeannette Jan 14, 2005 12:39 PM

RT, I’m with you on the “word nerd” thing. I got in the 60’s…”low-ranking nerd.” The quiz irked me, though, because it assumed things associated with nerdiness are only about math and science and computers. Whatever…

  18. Kristen Jan 14, 2005 8:31 PM

    22.

  19. andrew Jan 15, 2005 9:55 AM

i think it was the chemistry/computer questions that did me in. now, jeremy, am i nerd if i put a cygwin shell on my winxp so i could ssh on top of a windows system, instead of outside of it? anyhow. besides, jeremy could answer the d&d question which i was forced to answer the sociable answer. without embellishment. 88.

  20. Haley Jan 15, 2005 10:02 AM

That’s right, Charity. RT and Jeanette and I could make all of you look like extremely well-adjusted people if this were a quiz about word-related nerdiness. On the other hand, I am dying to get my husband to take this quiz, because he would probably have to have a new category created just for him.

  21. Haley Jan 15, 2005 10:15 AM

Dan got a 70! It should be noted that some of the questions he said he would have had to give much geekier answers to prior to us being married. Such as the biohazard signs in the bedroom. That is not my decorating taste but it was his in college. So I maybe brought him down one nerd notch. But he’s still pretty nerdy.

  22. dena Jan 15, 2005 12:08 PM

“12. Not nerdy, but then again maybe not all that cool either”

same as rebecca AND bethany! (rt, this is just one more proof of our similarity) Not sure the score is a compliment, but it sounds pretty good compared to some of you all :)

  23. RT Jan 15, 2005 1:54 PM

    Andrew wins!

    Wait… wait just a minute… Where’s Adam’s score?

  24. Jeremy Jan 15, 2005 5:51 PM

    Drew, you’re a total nerd—with or without cygwin. ;)

Btw, I predicted I would only be slightly nerdy because I completely missed the ears and Fridays have always been date/party night. Only nerds game on Friday night—my friends and I avoided that label like the plague. Of course, ironically, I’m beginning to appreciate it while being slowly molded away from it. Go figure.

  25. Jason Jan 19, 2005 4:49 PM

    87% = “High-Level Nerd”. Though I must admit that I’m somewhat ashamed that I didn’t know my I.P. Address.

  26. adam Jan 24, 2005 11:31 AM

    90% Supreme Nerd

    (sigh)

here’s a problem. i work 50 hours a week… on the internet. so i don’t really play on the computer at home. i xbox.

i also work from 3pm to midnight… on fridays. so i think that’s more nerdy than getting to play d&d as all the geeks i work with can do nothing more than bemoan the fact that by the time they get off work they’ll be out of space on their favorite worlds of warcra(ck)ft server.

i think if i’d adjusted my answer to accomodate those i might be five percent higher. oh, well. hey, andrew’s gotta kinda nerdy, right? (scans for andrew’s answer)

    88! THAT’S IT?! gah!

and andrew? “jeremy, am i nerd if i put a cygwin shell on my winxp so i could ssh on top of a windows system” versus “i script in vi for korn only and screw-the-comment-line my scripts are 52 bytes small and run only three child processes! (does victory dance)”?
