Imagine You & Me

Sometimes I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

Tonight my husband came home to me, bringing an Amigos Southwestern Chicken Salad and a movie from Blockbuster. Then we went on a long walk, past charming little gardens, below a setting sun and clouds lined with gold.

You’ve gotta ask yourself, “Does it get any better?”

I respond to that with the traditional “awww”

    probably not much.

    what was the movie?

ah, well… the movie could’ve been better. punch drunk love with adam sandler and emily watson. it was quite an experience in movie-viewing i must say. and i wouldn’t characterize it as bad at all; just very unique.

on the topic of movies… does anyone have (and enjoy) the soundtracks to vanilla sky, get shorty and/or chocolat? i’ve seen all these flicks in the past week and thought the music was awesome.

glad to have you back, b!

no, the movie couldn’t have been better! i love that movie. :) it’s so beautiful.

i don’t have any of those soundtracks, though i’ve requested the vanilla sky one for the past several christmases/birthdays. you can’t go wrong with a cameron crowe soundtrack.

i just thought sandler’s character was so sad and misunderstood (esp. by his sisters) that it was hard for me to fully enjoy the movie. parts of it were stinkin’ hilarious, while the romantic parts were very sweet. the scene transitions were very, shall we say, 70’s? any input on filmmaking here, b?

yeah, but he has emily watson at the end. so his sisters don’t really matter. as he says, he has a love that makes him stronger than anything you can imagine. :)

i’ve only watched it once so i can’t really comment very much on the filmmaking…and also i don’t know that much about filmmaking yet. but i haven’t yet seen a p.t.anderson movie i haven’t loved/learned from (ok, actually i thought his first movie “sydney/hard eight” was only ok. but the others i love). and they all have great soundtracks, too, while we’re on the subject.

i too thought that punch-drunk love was interesting to watch. afterwards i was intrigued, but wasn’t quite sure that i liked it or not. but now, having thought a bit more about it, i’m sure that it was quite good and that i really enjoyed it alot.

i’ve been thinking about it for a few days now. and nope, still don’t like it. : )

my fam has the soundtrack to ‘chocolat.’
(it’s so hard to resist typing an ‘e’ on the end of that word.)

is that soundtrack any good? i can’t remember from the movie….

the music in the movie is wonderful, so the soundtrack must be good. tip o’ the day: never buy cds or dvds from the media store at gateway mall (can’t remember the name) — they are so stinkin’ expensive!

it’s fye – for your entertainment. get it? clever! ho ho…so clever.

i bought a video once there, cause i needed it for a paper i was writing and nowhere else in town had it, and it was like $50 on amazon and it was only 20 or so at fye. so i bought it. but other than that, it’s too expensive, but i love that you can listen to cds before you buy them. more places need to do that. we need a virgin records megastore, i tell ya!

    amen to that…
